The Puffing Billy Railway & The Walhalla Goldfields Railway - Australia
This
2' 6" line is the famous Ozzy twin to the W&L recently opened through to
Gembrook this former Victoria State Railway is the longest of a once extensive system
of narrow gauge lines in the state and one not to be missed. Also I include a
page about the other operating 2' 6" line in Victoria, formerly the
Moe Walhalla Line and now the "Walhalla Goldfields Railway".
One
of the newest lines in China of nearly 1000 km in the frozen region of Inner
Mongolia makes for one of the most spectacular steam photographic lines in the
world. Massive locos and huge viaducts with steep grades all lead to a most
exceptional line. See for yourself!

Narrow Gauge in Queensland - Australia
The 3' 6"
gauge lines in Australia are mainly centered in Queensland which have many
thousands of miles of lines up the east coast from Brisbane to Cairns with
branches inland operated by the State Railway. There are also many reopened
by preservationists including those in the Atherton tablelands illustrated here.
Named Trains of Australia
There
are many famous named trains running in Australia including perhaps some of the
most well know, The Ghan and the Indian Pacific must be two of the most famous
but there are others which offer some of the most unique trains rides in the
world, if not some of the last great train rides on the planet!
