In the carriage sheds at Tanllan our most recently arrived coach has been stripped down to its frame prior to complete rebuild. Here is it after arrival and recently in the workshops.
MONARCH Resurrection
The refurbishment of Monarch seems to move on a pace every month and we can see here some of the Monarchists hard at it in Tanllan upper - June 2004.
LOCO REBUILD
Ferret is having a bit of a makeover, after years of rest she should burst into action very soon. At Tanllan in February 2004 progress seemed nearing completion. As she appeared in 75 standing at Tanllan "old" and on here first outing for many years at Llanfair 12th April 2004..
END POST !
Roger Cragg has been quietly repairing and replacing our milepost heads, which have suffered damage over the years, and recently replaced a number, here we see his efforts near Dolarddyn Curve in February 2004 .
What happened to the many bits of line side furniture (Signs) we used to have? Here is a picture of one near the mill taken in the early 80's with "85" approaching on a Welshpool bound train. There used to be many of these signs mainly at crossings along the line and they all disappeared in the early 80's, maybe someone removed them for safe keeping? Does anyone know? There are a very few stored at Llanfair and it would be nice to see some back on display.
